The SISP&EAU project

The SISP&EAU project has been selected as part of the PEPR MIE (Priority research programs and facilities - emerging infectious diseases) call for projects.

PEPR MIE, led by Inserm through ANRS - Emerging Infectious Diseases (ANRS - MIE), aims to provide a better understanding of how to effectively prevent and control the emergence of infectious diseases, as well as to develop countermeasures for diagnosing, protecting or treating people, and to enable the implementation of evidence-based health policies adapted to the specific context of the crisis.

The SISP&EAU project, coordinated by Pierre-Yve Boelle, aims to build and validate a surveillance model for respiratory viruses in France, integrating clinical cases and wastewater. It will set up detection and monitoring of viral strains causing respiratory infections to characterize the dynamics of virus circulation in the general population. It will perpetuate the technological, mathematical and computer tools developed for epidemiological surveillance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project is a collaboration between several research teams: Inserm, Universities, CNR, hospitals, INRAE, CEA, CNRS and Institut Pasteur.

Total funding for the project is €2,170,040.
