Publication of the 2nd edition of the book "Surveillance épidémiologique et veille sanitaire : principes, méthodes et applications en santé publique"
The objectives of this second edition are to inform health professionals of the principles of existing surveillance systems, to provide epidemiologists and researchers with methodological tools, to provide students and teachers with a complete and accurate manual, and to provide public health decision-makers with reference information. The book is organized in four main parts, in which are developed: the general principles and organization of epidemiological surveillance and health monitoring; the methods and theories specific to this field, with a constant concern for accessibility for non-specialists; the different fields of application (pathologies or particular population groups...); the relations of epidemiological surveillance with other fields of public health (prevention, regulation, socio-political aspects...). Particular attention was also paid to international health surveillance.
