Students in medical or scientific fields who have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in statistics or biological sciences may apply for this program. This first year gives access to the four M2 courses offered in the Public Health field.
The objective of the M2 year of the public health major is to acquire expert knowledge and to train future researchers or public health professionals through research. Students in medical or scientific fields who have completed an M1 or equivalent may apply for this field.
The program offers the following four tracks:
- Statistics, modeling and data science in health (SMSDS)
- Population Epidemiology and Prevention (EPIPOP)
- Clinical Epidemiology and Pharmacoepidemiology (ECLIPE)
- Biomedical Informatics (INFOMED)
DIU CESAM
The Centre d'Enseignement de la Statistique à la Santé Publique, à la Médecine et à la Biologie (CESAM) offers a series of practical training courses in the use of statistical methods in the biomedical field, as well as in epidemiology and clinical research methods.
These courses are organized within the framework of an Inter-University Diploma (DIU) delivered by Sorbonne University and the University of Paris, as part of the Continuing Education of Sorbonne University.
CESAM's teaching is aimed at all those (doctors, biologists, veterinarians, pharmacists, technicians, students) who wish to use the statistical method in the fields of medical research or in their professional life. The general level required is that of the end of the 3rd year of undergraduate studies, L3. The teaching does not require any particular training in mathematics or statistics. However, it is true that a lot of numbers and formulas are manipulated.
